Living in Skopje, Macedonia, I spend my days finding out what it means to be available to be some of the answer to my prayers. I try to pray, try to listen, try to observe, and try to be available to respond. Mainly, I try to love.
In 2003, I visited Belgrade, Serbia and my eyes were opened to a world that had previously been hidden behind the Iron Curtain and to a generation hungry to know more about the world beyond. I was struck both by their hospitality and their hopelessness. As we became friends with these young Serbs, we shared the hope that we have in Jesus by loving them, praying for them and living life alongside them. I also met my husband to be and together we forged a commitment and a passion for our own generation in the Balkans.
Since then, we have spent some time in Guildford, UK where I worked as a teacher, and where we deepened our friendships with the 24-7 Boiler Room community and helped to develop the 24-7 Springboard course. We moved to Skopje, Macedonia in June 2009 to be a part of the Glasnost community who share the same passion to see this generation know the same hope we have.

Dear Anna
I just came across your story. What an inspiration to just give up everything and go where God wants you to be to bring hope to these people.
